Interesting - I am not very musical (I didn't learn how to read/play music growing up, and I find doing so as an adult abysmally slow), but I think that written forms are just easier for me to process anyway. It seems to take me a very long time to get to a stage of ease of hearing a language and truly understanding what is said, because my brain is very much about trying to dissect the meaning and the grammar.
